EAT
Nothing is as sweet as a peach, which is why we’re loading up on the Vitamin A and C-rich, drippy fruit before they get carted away. Samascott Orchards brings baskets of the fuzzy fruits to the green market at Columbia University (115th and Broadway) Sundays through early September.
SWEAT
Catch the end of Battery Dance’s 28th Annual Downtown Dance Festival where you’ll watch the company perform South Asian steps and then partake in the Everybody Dance NOW! portion of the program. You’ll learn the moves you’ve just watched and get a chance to show them off on stage.
http://www.batterydance.org/, The Lawn at Battery Park (State Street and Pearl Street). Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Free.
CHILL
Add a soothing step to your rigid hair-removal regimen when you try Shaveworks’ The Cool Fix ($25). Made with Boerhavia Root Extract, this blue gel may help clear redness, dissolve dead skin cells and release hair trapped underneath the skin.
SHOP
Declining a shopping bag at the supermarket is getting easy (ier?), but at the liquor store? Not so much. To keep from buying the wasteful silvery bags, yet also avoiding hugging a bottle of Pinot Noir to your chest, try packing up your hostess gift in a reusable Paco + Lupe cotton “Cheers” bag ($15). This cute sack can fit four bottles of wine, four beers and all proceeds go to global conservation. Yeah, you’ll be the favorite guest.
