Your Perfect Weekend
EAT
Sometimes beer calls for tasting–to keep the belly at bay–so we’re headed to The Village Pourhouse’s 1st Annual NYC Brewfest on Sunday from 1 p.m. til…. Whet your palate with five brews from Sam Adams to 21st Amendment Watermelon Wheat for $15 ($20 at the door). Savor the taste with the bar’s debut $3 Abita Strawberry Beer Popsicles dipped in Chocolate.
Village Pourhouse, 64 3rd Ave (10th and 11th Streets) July 19, 1p.m. 212.979.2337
Sweat
On Saturday or Sunday take the 76-minute Metro North train ride (Leaving at 7:47 or 8:47 am only!) to Breakneck Ridge and disembark 5 minutes North of the rock scramble (you’ll see the crowd). During your (round trip) 8-mile hike around Cold Spring, you’ll meet marine lizards, Perigan Falcons and a mom and pop ice cream shop when you hit Main Street: Scoops (near the Depot).
Shop
It’s too hot to think about outerwear, but we’re not gonna be thinking all that much when Penfield’s gives us (their first time ever!) 70% off cute purple and pink down jackets, fleeces at the sample sale at Reed Space. Prices start at $5.
Reed Space, 151 Orchard Street (Rivington and Stanton), July 17 (11am-7pm), 18 (12pm-7pm), 19 (12pm-6pm)
Chill
As vigilant as we are with applying sunscreen, we still got burned. To buff up the peeling skin, we’re getting Takashimaya’s reduced Skin Renewal Treatment with a Glycolic AHA Mask and Peel ($75, Regularly $130)
Takashimaya 693 Fifth Avenue (212) 350-0118, July 7th – Sept. 11th
